What is Zoom for Government?

Zoom for Government is a FedRAMP Authorized SaaS service operating at the Moderate baseline and has achieved a PA from DISA for DoD Impact Level 4. In addition, Zoom for Government has also received an ATO-C for DoD IL4 from our service sponsor: Department of the Air Force. The Zoom for Government platform is U.S.-based and managed by only U.S. persons.

Where are the data centers and storage locations for Zoom for Government?

Zoom for Government data centers and storage locations are CONUS (Continental U.S.) only with all customer-generated data stored in the AWS GovCloud.

What's the difference between Zoom for Government and the commercial Zoom platform?

The Zoom for Government platform offers a similar experience as the commercial Zoom platform, but operates in a dedicated, U.S.-based GovCloud infrastructure designed to meet the requirements of FedRAMP Moderate baseline and DoD Impact Level 4 and is managed by U.S. persons only.

Zoom for Government and commercial Zoom use the same codebase, but Zoom for Government updates are generally released on a separate schedule, which can be up to several weeks after the changes are made on the commercial Zoom platform.

Zoom for Government is subject to FedRAMP Moderate baseline controls and continuous compliance monitoring in accordance with the FedRAMP program guidelines.
